When I use remote desktop from a Vista machine to a XP SP2 machine, I get this error message:
"The remote computer cannot be identified because it is not set up to support authentication.
Remote computer: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
Do you want to connect to this computer anyway?"
If I click on "Yes" button, I still get connected into the XP SP2 machine.
When I remote from the XP SP2 machine to Vista beta 2, I don't encounter this error. Both machines are joined to my office domain controller.

Remote Desktop from Vista to XP error message
Hello,
This is caused by the new authentication support in the Vista-era Remote Desktop Protocol. For now, only Vista machines support this new authentication mechanism.
This is nothing to be worried about and is the expected behavior when connecting to a Windows XP machine from Windows Vista.

Thanks Jimmy. Glad is not some security lapse on the XP machine.
